Post Basic BSc (Bachelor of Science) Nursing is a 2 years course which is designed to enhance nursing skills of the professionals who already have a background in nursing or a similar field. The basic eligibility criteria is that students should have completed Class 12 with a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and should have a registration in Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM).
The admission process includes students’ performance in the written entrance exam conducted at university/college level. The common PB BSc Nursing subjects will include Nursing Foundation, Psychology, Medical & Surgical Nursing, Microbiology, Maternal Nursing, among others. After completion of this undergraduate course, students can also go for higher studies such as MSc Nursing. A master's degree after graduation will be beneficial for the student as it will add more value to his/her career

The admission process for P.B.BSc Nursing course is varied, as various institutes have their very own criteria but it is most oftenly done based on the candidate’s obtained merit in Class 12 and in the GNM course.

BSc Nursing (Post Basic) Eligibility

  • Candidates who wish to apply for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (P.B.B.Sc.) course need to have qualified the GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) course after attaining the 10+2 or equivalent qualification, preferably with Science subjects.
  • Candidates should also be a Registered Nurse/ Registered Midwife or equivalent with any of the State Nursing Registration Councils.
